Eco farme Tamalait Skoura Morocco

This place is literally a hidden gem. We didn’t know anything about it beforehand, the place has been running since very recently and Hicham has been working so hard the last years to set this place running finally. It is kind of an oasis build in his family’s land, with traditional bungalows among fruit trees and very well decorated tents to chill out. Hicham is also a professional chef, so you will have some of the best food you will try in Morocco. He is very kind and can tell you about the story of the place and whatever you want to know about Morocco. He is currentlly building a A/C area within the farm, which is gonna make the place unique.

“Paradise in the oasis! The tension increases the longer the bumpy path through the palm grove lasts – but our expectations were exceeded in everything: the nomad tents, which were converted into tiny, stylish guest houses with charming details. The romantic and well-kept fruit and vegetable garden around it. The warm welcome of Mohammad and his brother with perfect tea in the cozy shady area. The food: we had wanted something traditional – and got the best tagine with a small cooking class. The brothers are trained chefs! Unfortunately we didn’t have enough time for further cooking and eating pleasure, entertainment or a hiking tour in the wider area. Many thanks to these great hosts! To all travelers: be sure to plan ahead!”skoura 360 guest

A Story of Two brothers dream which comes true...

Where do I begin… We arrived in the afternoon and were awaited by Hicham, one of the brothers who run the farm. Hicham speaks good English which makes it easy for a tourist to obtain necessary information. The welcome was warm, with tea and Moroccan biscuits. Hicham answered all our questions and made us feel at home. The property was clean and there was fruit on the table in our room. The farm is one of a kind – really lovely space, peaceful, well spaced bungalows, lined with Berber rugs and sofas, so inviting to rest. Hicham and his brother work very hard to make the guests comfortable. We travelled with small kids and were given an oil heater which was very welcome as the evenings and mornings were cold in February. There was also hot water! Genuinely hot, not just lukewarm. The farm has animals (chickens, sheep, rabbits and cats) – perfect to entertain the kids for hours. The farm is surrounded by palmeries and is in a beautiful location for relaxing walks or cycling. Local pottery which Hicham showed us provided another invaluable experience for our kids – making their own candle holder. Then the dinners… they were wonderful! If you go there, make sure you eat there. After dinners, star gazing. This is a wonderful spot for it. The farm is a bit tricky to find but we did it on our own with the help of maps.me. The drive itself was an amazing experience and the route took us via palmeries and villages. If you need help though you can arrange with the owners to meet you and lead you to the farm. So much for the practicalities… I have travelled the world and I can say with certainty that this is a very special place. Hicham, Mohammed – thank you once again for your wonderful hospitality and generosity!Skoura 360 travel advisor

What to Expect

“One of the most beautiful experience in Morocco! We are 3 friends one girl and 2 guys, we traveled together with a car through the Atlas mountain to the desert. We have been very lucky to find Eco-Ferme Tamalait, our friend Hichiam treated us like brothers, the place has stunning rooms, you can stay in a tent or on a flat, inside is absolutely great with so many details. At the farm you have animals and fresh vegetables, said that you have to make at least a dinner with Hichiam!! He is a very good chef and he only use fresh vegetables from his field, you won’t find a better meal in the entire Morocco, the real Organic Dinner. He can prepare also vegetarian and vegan food. Try also to speak woth him to organize some adventure on the Atlas mountain, I would say if you want to have an authentic berber experience, talk with him and organize your Journey. This is authentic “out of the beaten track” experience.”Skoura 360 guest

“Two exceptional brothers who set this up with great taste and especially with their hearts! Not only is the place enchanting, relaxing and original but above all it is a beautiful meeting! And this is above all what we are looking for on a trip! We were welcomed like home! The night in the tent was magical! Absolutely delicious meal, organic with the products of the garden, the best of our whole trip, by the fire and friendly discussion with our hosts who shared with us a piece of their life, their culture… and also the atmosphere of the evening with small candles everywhere and the starry sky. In short, you have to come to experience this unique experience and support this beautiful project!”

“This place is pretty nice, the people who run it are very friendly and try their best to make you feel at home. We paid 10 Euro/person for a cooking lesson, which is a steal – if you consider five people in a small kitchen cutting vegetables a cooking lesson. Other people paid way more and were super happy apparently, so it must be my fault. We had a huge argument with the owners about the price of the cooking lesson. It was obviously a misunderstanding, so this was my fault as well, so of course we had to pay. Most people would probably have left after the first night, since it was extremely cold in the rooms. The ownerˋs only reply was that it is cold everywhere in December, wich is simply not true, we visited other hotels nearby and they were way warmer.”
